Romantic Painting
Romantic painting
happens neoclassical painting of the late eighteenth, with new tastes developed
for all stages of Romanticism art and literature, philosophy and architecture.
It is twinned with the social and political movements that won body with the
French Revolution.
The first period of
Romanticism (1770-1820) was developed in parallel with neoclassicism
(1760-1800) or rather in opposition to this. Where neoclassicism proposes an
ideal beauty, rationalism, virtue, online, the cult of classical antiquity and
the Mediterranean, and romanticism opposes and promotes heart, passion,
irrational, imaginary, disorder, exaltation, color, brushstroke and the cult of
the Middle Ages and the mythologies of Northern Europe. But the romance can not
only be defined with that, as it developed its own characteristics;
sentimentality, mysticism, the expression of dreams.
With these new
features, the authors transmitted to the work his thought and work focused on a
single point, through clouds, fog, waves ... that filled the work and the view
is concentrated only in the center.
